ABSTRACT

With
this manual system, there are cases that some student and staffs cheat by
asking their friends to tick or sign for them. This occurs because the students
just want to fulfill the 80% of the attendance so that they can seat for the
final examination at the end of the semester. Lecturer
and administration fine it difficult to take record of a populated class and
staffs it is difficult for lecturer to record the attendance of students
accurately and efficiently. Lecturers are responsible to monitor all the
students’ attendance for the whole semester. For those students that fail to
meet the 80% of their attendance rate will be given a reminder as a warning
from faculty. The main objective of this study is to develop Student’s Attendance System using
Fingerprint Technology. This system will help record the attendance of
students in class and during exams, it will also provide the facilities to the
departments and the school administration to access the information of the
students easily, and also to achieve the goal of record keeping. The design is made
in such a way that it can handles all data input, Storage, access and
retrieval. This will be achieved using my SQL server database Management System
which is embedded in VisualBasic.Net programs. A database represents some
entities of the real world. These entities are used to represent data, and they
have attributes that define/describe them. An entity Relationship relates all
entity using an identifying relationship notation.
